The Akashi-KaikyoBridge, also known as the PearlBridge, is the longest suspension bridge. It is located in Japan. It was completed and opened for traffic in 1998. The bridge links the city of Kobe on the mainland of Honshū to Iwaya on AwajiIsland by crossing the busy AkashiStrait. It carries part of the Honshū-Shikoku Highway.
