Big Ben Tower, London

The name Big Ben is often used to describe the tower, the clock and the bell but the name was first given to the Great Bell.The Elizabeth Tower, which stands at the north end of the Houses of Parliament, was completed in 1859 and the Great Clock started on 31 May, with the Great Bell's strikes heard for the first time on 11 July and the quarter bells first chimed on 7 September.

The Sidu River Bridge

The Sidu River Bridge is a 4,009 feet long suspension bridge. Its width is 80 feet. It is over the valley of the Sidu River near Yesanguan in Badong County of the Hubei Province, China. The bridge was designed by CCSHCC Second Highway Consultants Company, Ltd. It opened to traffic on November 15, 2009.

The Dashengguan Bridge, China

The Dashengguan Bridge crosses the Yangtze River in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. The bridge forms part of the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway. Construction of the bridge started in 2006 and it was completed in 2010. The bridge has two main spans of 336 meters. It is one of the largest arch bridges.

Mahatma Gandhi Setu Bridge, India

Mahatma Gandhi Setu is a bridge over the river Ganges connecting Patna in the south to Hajipur in the north of Bihar. It was the longest river bridge in India at the time of its construction. It was inaugurated in May 1982 by the then Prime Minister, Mrs Indira Gandhi. Its length is 5,575 metres which makes it one of the longest bridges in the world.There are 48 pilers to this bridge.

Lysefjord Bridge, Norway

The Lysefjord Bridge is a suspension bridge in Rogaland, Norway. It was constructed in 1997. It has a main span of 446 meters and the depth of the deck is 2.7 meters. The supporting towers are 102 meters tall, and are made of reinforced concrete.

Incheon Bridge, South Korea

The Incheon Grand Bridge is a newly-constructed reinforced concrete bridge in South Korea October 2009. The Incheon Bridge is South Korea's longest spanning cable-stayed bridge. The main purpose of the bridge is to provide direct access between Songdo and Incheon International Airport, reducing travel time between them by up to one hour.

Karun-3 dam, Iran

The Karun-3 dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Karun River in the province of Khuzestan, Iran. The purpose of the dam is for power generation and flood control. The dam is a concrete double arch type, 673 ft high from the foundation and 607 ft high from the river bed. It was built to help meet Iran's energy demands as well as to provide flood control.
